Why is Sige not in the App Store?

A short explanation in plain words.

You don't need the Play Store or App Store to use Sige. Open Sige in your browser, tap "Add to Home Screen" once, and Sige sits next to your other apps — same icon, same speed.

Why this choice?

Most Play Store apps are 50–200 MB. Sige is small (under 2 MB to start). You install it without burning your data.

Saves storage on your phone

Phones with 16 GB get full fast. Sige is small and updates by itself. You don't need to delete and reinstall.

Faster updates

When we fix a bug, you get the fix today — not 1–7 days later. Open Sige tomorrow, it's already up-to-date. No "tap to update" wait.

Free forever for tindahan

The App Store and Play Store take 30% from app payments. By skipping them, we can keep Sige Tindahan free for every Tita, forever.

Easy to share in Messenger

Send a Sige link to your kapitbahay in Messenger or WhatsApp. They tap, it opens, they use it. No "go to Play Store first" wait.

Works offline

Once installed, Sige keeps working when your wifi is out or your load is low. Sales, utang, products — all there. It syncs when you're back online.

How to install Sige

Tap the install button on the Sige home screen, or do it from your browser:

Android Chrome: Tap the three dots (⋮) at the top → "Install app" or "Add to Home screen"
iPhone Safari: Tap the share button (the box with the up-arrow) → "Add to Home Screen"
Computer (Chrome/Edge/Brave): Look for the install icon (⊕) at the right of the address bar

Is Sige still safe?

Yes. Sige uses the same secure connection (HTTPS) that your bank app uses. We don't have third-party trackers. If a security researcher finds a problem, they can tell us through our security contact page. Read our privacy policy for what we collect (very little) and what we never collect.

Will Sige ever be in the App Store?

Maybe later. For now, we focus on making the website-version work as well as possible. The App Store is just one way to deliver an app. If it doesn't help our Tita, we don't pay the 30% toll.
